Grandia 2 – A Deus ♪♫

by admin on March 18, 2010

This is the song Elena always sings which is called the Song of Light. This song was actually Portuguese that was sung in Japanese. The lyrics: Nascer do sol, palavras, milagre Água pura, uma lágrima Paz, luz, amor… Fruto agreste, respiração, liberdade Harmonia, vento da benção Agradecimento… Tempestade inquietação, escuridão Luz do sol, alegria, graças a Deus… The complete translation are as follows: With the morning light of the Word abounds. A miracle is brought to pass — pure water. A teardrop, peace, light, love, sounds The fruit of the fields breathes ripeness. The wind of blessing blows across the world. All is filled with thanksgiving. Storm and stress and Darkness at last Turn to the light and joy of a warm day. O Lord, thank you for your wondrous works. Th translations per word: Birth of sun, words, miracle Pure water, a tear Peace, light, love… Rural fruit, breath, freedom Harmony, blessing, wind Thanks… Storm, unquiet, darkness Light of sun, happiness, thanks to God *Acknowledging bluelaguna.Net for all the music I’ve got so far *Thanks to Noriyuki Iwadare for making beautiful music for Grandia 2

Her heavy japanese accent makes the song difficult to understand even for me (I am brazilian). Nonetheless it is just perfect.

davedetrick March 18, 2010 at 6:23 pm

Well said. . .
I agree with that.

crestofvalmar123 March 18, 2010 at 7:12 pm

. . . The song’s a praise to God, and the game teaches us that whether one does or does not believe in God, love, faith, and caring for one another will lead to a better world. It doesn’t tell us that God is dead. Granas was just considered a God by the people inside the game, but he really wasn’t. Who knows that there was still a real God in the game? Granas and Valmar were just scientists who transformed into powerful supernatural beings. Valmar killed Granas, not the Devil killed God.

davedetrick March 18, 2010 at 7:31 pm

Agreed. . .
The plot itself has no moral value, it’s just a good storyline.
But there is the idea that men can’t become god, that moral is in this game.
After all, you end up beating a man who’s bent on it.
Don’t you think so, crestofvalmar123?
BTW Kudos, not only for posting this song, but giong through the trouble of translating it.
You’ve more than earned my subscription.

crestofvalmar123 March 18, 2010 at 7:42 pm

Well, that isn’t the moral lesson of the game! It’s people power and that we shouldn’t rely mainly on prayers but on efforts also. The plot: God and Devil died, Devil will come again, the Pope knows the truth and sides with the Devil is just for the game! It’s immature for a person to apply it in real life!

TentacleSex March 19, 2010 at 5:36 am

Have you tried searching online? IIRC, Grandia 2 was only made for Dreamcast and PC (and it’s pretty old). I had DC version. I don’t think any stores would sell it anymore, try looking on ebay or something.

videowatchright March 19, 2010 at 6:09 am

Do you know where I can get Grandia 2 and 3? I have Grandia 1, with Justin, Feena, Rapp, Milda, etc. . . But I’m desperately searching for Grandia 2 and 3. I didn’t find it in game shops like Fnac or Game Mania. But I have to get it T. T
